The client worked as a truck driver. While driving downhill, the truck experienced a brake malfunction and began rapidly gaining speed. In an effort to avoid harming others and at great risk to his own health, the client intentionally steered the truck toward a group of trees to prevent a catastrophic accident. The client was initially sent to industrial clinics, which determined that his injuries were minor.

After months of substandard medical care, the client came to us for representation. At that time, the applicant was suffering from multiple issues beyond physical injuries, including internal organ complaints, as well as psychological and neurological conditions. After one year of addressing all of the applicant’s complaints and securing appropriate medical care, the parties reached a settlement agreement of $400,000 in new money.
